What is law of attraction, Justyna? Is it working? Is it a made-up story? Does magic really exist?
To start of: if it didn’t work, I wouldn’t be where I am today. And I like to think of myself as a lucky person, as I have more than I could have ever dreamt of. I am not an egoistic person, that’s why in this post I will try to explain you how did it happen, and how can you work out this magic for yourself. Given that, your dream life is just couple thoughts and moments away.
Disclaimer: For this post needs I will use the word Universe, because I am reaching out to big audience. However if you feel like more appropriate for you is word God, or Guides, or Angels, please use those meanings and interpret it as you wish. Thank you for your understanding! X
I recall starting to become conscious about power of law of attraction just right after high school. I read about it and experimented endlessly. Sometimes with success, sometimes with failure (so I thought!). And that is why first, most important thing to remember about law of attraction is – There is no such thing as failure. Because whether you realize it or not – you attract to your life what you subconsciously want. But let’s dive in, and find out why!
What is law of attraction?
Law of attraction is a belief that your thoughts, positive AND negative, if thought often and with intensity, might attract that thing you have been thinking about into your life. This creative universal force is very powerful, and it always works for you.
It sounds quite complicated but it isn’t. Have you heard of the saying “like attracts like”? I am sure you did. And Law of attraction is the base of that.
Simple example. You wake up happy. Day seem to be so much more beautiful. Everything just feels right, and the day gets better and better. You got promotion, received invitation for a date…It is just positive effect domino! In this situation, that day positive vibes attracted more of positive vibes.
Another example. You forgot to put your alarm. Because of that you woke up too late for work. You are clearly upset. 20 minutes later you spill coffee on your white shirt and your bus didn’t wait for you! The day is just becoming disaster. I bet you’ve heard about so called “Bad Days”? And again, LIKE attracted LIKE. Negative vibes, attracted more negative vibes into your life, because that is what you were focusing on.
In second example you could have stopped this domino effect by simply taking 2 minutes. Either to meditate, or breathe. 5 minutes to think positive thoughts. Maybe write down the list of things you were grateful for? The day would have looked so much better I guarantee you.
HOW COULD HAVE I ATTRACTED THAT BAD THING INTO MY LIFE?!
I don’t believe in coincidence. I am a believer that everything that comes to your life was meant to be. It was meant to be, because YOU wanted it to happen. You hold control and steers of your life all the time, so blaming somebody else is just not fair.
You can argue – but wait. I didn’t want that disease, or other bad things that happened to me throughout my life?! How could I have possibly attracted it?
It took me a while to understand that on my own example. I’ve always been a lucky girl with healthy body. But when I did get sick when I was younger, I realized that it happened simply because I felt like I needed more attention from my parents. Try to think of it that way. Why did that happen in the past? Did it mean I needed more attention? Or maybe was striving for love? Or friends to take care of me more? Your attention to negative things and lack might have attracted it to your reality.
Of course nobody does it deliberately, but only WE are responsible for our own lives.
YOU ARE A MAGNET
Book that I strongly recommend to read (if you are interested more about Law of Attraction) is
“The Law of Attraction. The basics of the teachings of Abraham.” – by Esther and Jerry Hicks”
In this book Abraham explains what is law of attraction, by letting us imagine that we are magnets. It always helps me to come back to reality when I have a Bad Day. To wake up and remind myself that I don’t need any more bad things happening in my life.
As a magnet – we attract what we think about, and so:
1.If you want to get fit, just because you think you are fat -> you are going to become even more fat, because your WHY has negative connotations. You don’t like yourself as you are, so you will attract more of that.
2. If you want to get rich, just because you are poor -> you are going to attract more of what you think you are – more debts, more bills. Again – thinking of yourself as a poor person has negative connotations. And lack of something can’t attract positive things. There is saying: You can’t pour from the empty bottle – and that is very true with Law of Attraction.
Through our attention to things we don’t want – we invite more of them to our lives by giving them much attention.
Our thoughts create our reality. Whether we want it or not. Previous examples showed that we really didn’t want be fat and poor! We wanted to be all those positive things (and of course we thought about them too). Then why, out of all those thoughts, the ones we didn’t want materialized?
Let’s start with time buffer. Our thoughts don’t materialize straight away. That would create total chaos. Imagine, thinking about elephant, and then there goes elephant into your garden! Crazy. Well, law of attraction, and Universe does help you in getting what you want by “observing” your thoughts. But..what does it “observe”?
*how many times you have thought of something
*If you truly believe in that thing happening to you
*what you do not want to happen
*intensity of thoughts given to the desire.
Well of course you don’t believe in elephant just popping into your garden! So that won’t happen! And you thought about it just once. And no intensity attached.
Do you understand what I am saying?
Okay now, knowing this…
How can we use Law of Attraction to work in our favour?
Let’s come back to the previous example
1. You want to get fit
You won’t get fit/thin when you believe you are fat. Because you are what you believe, and that won’t change.
So what if…What if we will change perspective? Believe that you are fit. Believe that you are able to do this. Imagine yourself running a marathon. Or swimming 10 pools! IF you believe it, then you are halfway there!
Find your why! Why would you like to become fit? And it better be positive WHY 😊 Because you want to take better care of your body. Because your body deserves to be well treated. Because you care about your family and want to be with them as long as possible…Positive reasons are endless. And all you have to do is change your attitude towards it.
Act as if! Behave like you are already fit! What Fit You would be eating right now? Would Fit You sit all day by the TV? What activities would Fit YOU engage in? And so on!
2. You want to get rich
First thing, I don’t believe in getting rich just to get rich. Personally, my goal is to become financially independent and be my own boss, because I love freedom. That would be my first tip:
Change your goal into something specific and measurable.
Let’s say Anna asked Universe: I want to be rich!
Is she going to become a millionaire? With this intention – NO
“Getting rich” is so unspecific, that for homeless person £10 might mean being rich! And Universe will be like: Okay, Anna asked for being rich, here comes £10! Disappointment, that is what it will be for her. But her desire was clear, she might argue. No it wasn’t!
I am sure you are familiar with SMART goals method. If not I will quickly remind you:

And actually I have done similar mistake, but I’ve learnt from it! My recent desire was to win Iphone 11 Pro.
You can imagine, I really really wanted to win this in the online contest. In order to do so, I kept visualizing myself having it, playing on it and doing amazing pictures.
And every day I kept getting SPAM on Instagram starting with word “You have won Iphone11 Pro!”. Haha seriously. Very funny Universe! 😀 I got those emails at least 5 times. Well lesson learnt, I wasn’t specific enough Important to realize. that is a mistake a lot of people make without realizing.
I could write and write about Law of Attraction. It is so because I have seen it happening in my life, and life of my friends on daily basis.
Success stories is something that I cherish when listening to them.
