daily habits of successful person
If you are here, reading this, probably you are wondering and looking for an answer – how can you improve your life. In this short post I am going to help you focus your attention on 10 daily – easy habits of successful person have.
To give you little bit of context – I have never been much of a routine girl. I had life that never had routine or schedule. It is partially because I was a student working different part time jobs (changing jobs often as well).
When the opportunity of ‘normal’ life was thrown at me after my graduation – I ran away from it (don’t ask me why). Maybe it was because I have feared that ‘normal’ and more stabilized life means boring? So I became a flight attendant. You can only imagine, how tough that was on my body. It ended up with sleepless nights, my body didn’t know what time zone I was in…
I am writing to you now, from my furlough. It means, I have my job, but I have to stay at home. In 2 days it is going to be full 2 months.
And here we are – I had to incorporate some kind of routines and habits to not get crazy. The fact I became to love it, it’s crazy!
So please read my take on habits that will make your life a little bit better! x
Routines that you can implement in order to improve your life
1. Make your bed
I know it’s super easy point, and I can bet that you have heard that multiple times in your life. The question is – are you actually following that rule?
Making your own bed it’s the first success of the day. Sometimes on my days off I catch myself getting up early and quickly making my bed. Then I know I can’t go back to bed to sleep longer… It works! If I would leave bed undone – I’d come back to bed in less than 10 seconds.
Even if you’ll have a bad day at work. Coming back home to made bad, might make you feel little bit more successful and productive. Because, hey, look. You were so tired at 6 am, sleepy, and still done a good job.
Give yourself a high 5!
2. Drink water
Numerous studies say that you should drink at least 1.5l water per day. It’s not made up. I promise -> here you can read more from official health organization
Whilst knowing isn’t necessarily acting – I had troubles with that one. Plain water seems very boring to me. In fact, I’d rather have an orange juice.
I am actually glad that tea and milk counts to that drinking!
Your all body depends on water. More than of food. Average person can survive without food up to 3 weeks, but without water just 3 days. And that tells you how important water is!
What are the benefits of drinking the water?
*it prevents from dehydration (your body becomes most dehydrated during the night, that’s why it is important to have a glass of water in the morning)
*it supports work of all body systems (I won’t be going deeper into this subject)
*as we are on a subject of daily habits of successful person – water is on the list, because it keeps your brain in check:
– helps with concentration
-increase your blood flow (blood is 90% of water), resulting ‘importing’ more oxygen to your brain
– helps maintaining your emotions and mood
-helps reducing your stress
I hope now you can see the benefits of drinking water on becoming more successful? No more headaches + more memory and focus? Bring that in!
3. Move your body
During those past 2 months I have been exercising every day (okay, almost!). It gives my day a purpose. Plus, it makes me feel so much better afterwards! Moreover, gives me sense of accomplishment (and the right to eat that additional biscuit without regret).
It is all up to you what you’ll decide to do. It might me doing exercises and cardio just like me. OR you can go dancing (I mean at home! Still isolation people!). If you are the type that loves running – good for you! But if you don’t like running – even going for a walk counts. It’s about moving your body. Exercises of all kinds produce endorphins, which is so called hormone of happiness.
And happy people tend to perform better, right?
4. Read a book and learn something new
And now we’re talking! That is my personal favourite. I am addicted to reading, books and literature. Honestly, before I finish a book, I have 3 new ones lined up to read next. I am obsessive book shopaholic.
I hope you can see the value of reading a book? You have full control over what information you invite into your mind. You can of course choose an entertaining book. Or criminal. It’s completely up to you.
But if you are here to find the daily habits of successful person – let me tell you something. Most of them are not reading criminals. They are reading books about self-growth. They educate themselves in various disciplines, starting from investments
I absolutely love this article about what famous people read – CLICK HERE
You can find out, that for example:
Warren Buffet – reads 5 hours per day (including 500 pages reports)
Bill Gates – is said to be reading 50 books per year (folks, that means he is reading 1 book per week)
Elon Musk – was growing up reading 2 books PER DAY
In the article’s summary you can read that almost all the famous billionaires and entrepreneurs spend at least 1 hour per day pf learning something new…
That information gives me motivation! I mean…IF the busiest people in the world have time to do it – certainly I have time as well!
5. Gratitude list. What are you grateful for?
Hey you! Thank you for reading up to this point – I wanted to say how grateful I am for it!
And that’s an example of appreciation. Not taking things for granted, but being thankful for whatever comes your way – because it is supposed to.
Imagine for a second a person who complains, is upset and generally not satisfied with his/her life. Can you see that person succeeding? Maybe only when changing its attitude.
And that can be resolved with this method – daily habit that I incorporated into my life, because I have many things to be grateful for.
I am an abundant being and so are you. We are privileged to be able to read. We are privileged to have running water, and houses…WIFI and devices on which you are reading this post right now.
When was the last time you thanked the Universe / God / Spirits for it? Maybe you’re taking it for granted?
Successful people know and realize that to be successful you have to adopt a mindset of being grateful.
And I am sure that by being optimistic and happy and having positive attitude towards life will only repay you with good things.
Whilst if you’ll be complaining that you don’t have this or that…Law of attraction will work on your behalf attracting some more of that vibe. So make sure you are on positive side!
6. Think about good things before going to sleep
This habit is actually something that I really love. I came into realization when I had nightmares right after watching thriller in the evening.
Your brain is most active during the night. It processes all information that it collected during the day and ESPECIALLY the information obtained up to 2 hours before falling asleep.
I had to experiment with it but I gotta tell you. I love those talks with my husband before falling asleep. We ask ourselves about good things that happened during the day or even we come back to our memories. And they are the best. The things he can remember might be the things I have forgotten about but still wonderful. Like moments from our first date or our first holidays abroad together. It makes me feel so happy and light just before falling asleep.
And that helps me sleep like a child, and I wake up with good dreams, ready for the day ahead 😊
7. Find something to laugh about
We can’t be serious all the time. It makes one look old. Do this whenever you feel sad or upset – watch something that will make you laugh: your favourite comedy or stand up. Watch some puppies on YouTube or people’s funny acts on TikTok. Meet your friends (after lockdown is over of course), and laugh out loud!
Again, your brain doesn’t register if your fake smile and laugh is actually fake. It will register it is a real and send some endorphins your way.
And as Bob Marley was singing – Don’t Worry Be happy!
What are affirmations?
Affirmations are positive statements that you keep repeating to yourself and you actually believe in them as they were true.
When you say them out loud – the thoughts are becoming the reality.
Affirmations are part of daily habits of successful people. They believe and they keep repeating to themselves that they are worth of success. They strongly trust their thoughts.
For example, you know JLo, right? Let me quote her!
“Affirmations are so important. I am youthful and timeless. I tell myself that every day, a few times a day. It sounds like clichéd bullshit, but it’s not: Age is all in your mind “
She is affirming to herself every day that she feels and look young and guess what? She looks fantastic and stunning! So inspiring.
9. Try to eat something healthy every day
Let’s start from the brain food – because let’s remember you want to be successful so first thing that is going to get you there is your brain and mind.
Eating healthy and providing your body and brain with vitamins and all the essential supplements is way to go.
What can you eat daily to improve your life?
I am not a dietitian, but I know thing or two about food. Following list is my top favourite healthy food examples. But please remember there is so much more that you can explore -> that you actually have to explore to stay on top of your game!
*fruits! (bananas, blueberries, apples, avocado)
*veggies (broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, beetroot)
Take care of your body in order to become successful AND healthy person so you can enjoy the fruits of your work! (can you see what I did there 😀 )
10. Do something towards your goal
I am sure everybody have a goal. Even small goals that they’d like to achieve. Do you know that feeling when you have watched TV all day, and didn’t do anything towards getting that project done or …(fill the blank)? It is not a nice feeling, isn’t it?
To feel accomplished when it comes to your goal is not only to make your bed in the morning (see Point 1). You have to have a sense of moving, and actually doing the tasks. Once I was a task writer. I could have written 20 goals for a day and didn’t manage to do any of them, as they were so big that it overwhelmed me, I changed my strategy since then.
Write your Big Goal for a month, or quarter, or year. And work downwards for them. Divide It into small achievable daily task that you can do.
Writing this post is my Goal for a Day, and I can see I am almost finishing writing it and it feels so good. I feel accomplished, bye. 😉
Just joking of course. But you get what I am saying?
I hope this article on daily habits of successful person will make you adopt even one of those routines. It will definitely help you get closer to your goals, no matter if it’s a body goal, eating healthy goal or any other.
For me you are successful. You took time of your day to learn something new, and I couldn’t be much prouder.
Well done you!
