Couple days ago I finally managed to visit Blenheim Palace – a place that was on my Bucket List for so long! My desire to see it was the strongest especially during Christmas, when I saw pictures of beautifully decorated halls with Christmas Trees, and displays of lights in the garden.
Also, it was my first trip with my new camera, therefore decided to make a good use out of it and practice my photography skills!
This post won’t be the usual one -where there is more words than pictures, I want to show you how stunning the Blenheim Palace was! (Thankfully it was a clear day, with no rain!)
To answer your question that you might have in your mind right now – yes there was a place to sit down (outside) and have your coffee/snacks/lunch!
2000 acres of land, parks and fountains to see and what’s the first thing I am seeing on my walk? My favorite Blossom Trees! I love everything about them. Smell, beauty, and the fact they are the sign of a Spring!
Then, we saw this sign…
Choice was very clear where to go… Secret Garden! “Gotta secret can you keep it, swear this one you’ll save..”..Anybody? 😀
After visit to Secret Garden, we headed into the direction of the lake, passing Palace once again but from the other side.
And there it is – Picturesque lake. We weren’t able to come closer from this side, as area was blocked for renovations. Maybe next time?
Churchill’s Memorial Garden
Now we are on the way to Churchill’s garden – and place where he proposed to Clementine in apparently very romantic way, when it was raining! Just right here:
With views like that, I wouldn’t say no!
Churchill’s Memorial Garden. By walking on a path right next to memorial you can see Churchill’s Life Timeline, which is very interesting and educating!
Straight after this quick history lesson, we were heading towards “Pleasure Garden”. Name was very intriguing, so we were looking forward to see what it actually behind those words!
Very intriguing name, isn’t it…? Let’s go there through this impressive gate!
Woodstock Small Model Village – such a great idea!
And I did just like the Sundial suggested to! It was 11.59am so I would say, quite accurate!
And that was about it! Pleasure garden was just the other way to describe mainly children’s playground. Kind of disappointing to be fair. Maybe we have had too big expectations?!
If you also would like to see and experience Blenheim Palace – you can book your tickets just right HERE (and upgrade to annual pass like I did!).
