Orient express history
Orient Express was a passenger train serving mainly long distance destinations. It’s first journey was from Paris to Istanbul took place in 1883. Operations of the Orient Express ceased in 2009 due to too high competition with modern and high speed trains. Moreover, growth and popularity of aviation industry didn’t help trains also. Fortunately enough, private company Belmond bought the Orient Express renaming it into Venice Simplon Orient Express, operating on actual vintage carriages from 1920-1930s. They are fully restored vintage cars. Company made sure that every detail is perfect.
It is a new way of travelling, 5 star luxury travel like. It’s not as fast as planes or having private feel like cars, but it’s got a lot of charm. Many people are choosing this transportation mode mainly because of the experience not time saving.
£2700 for train journey includes 1 way ticket from London Victoria Station to Venice. This journey takes 24 hours, and it takes you through some scenic views and destinations like Paris, Zurich, Verona and then arriving into Venice.
what are you paying for?
You will be looked after by a cabin steward. He or she will take care of your passport, refresh your cabin and serve you your food.

The dresscode in Venice Simplon Orient Express is smart and casual during the day and suit/dress for the evening. Jeans are strictly forbidden, as well as any type of sneakers/trainers.
