I’ve seen this series a while ago to be fair. However, all I could remember from it (beside beautiful costumes) were cliffs and green Cornwall. As soon we might be able to travel again, and maybe do some staycation (who knows?!), I decided to look more closely on where Poldark was filmed – to know the real locations I can visit and feel like I am a part of the cast.
To keep you in loop – if you haven’t seen Poldark – CLICK HERE to read it’s summary. But I strongly advise you to watch it, if not for nature views, then definitely for Aidan Turner!
I don’t want to make this post longer than it needs to be, so let’s start and feature all the most beautiful Top 10 Poldark’s filming locations in Cornwall!
This mine is part of Cornwall’s Heritage Site, and rightfully so. Poldark was a noble man who owned the mine, so this location is I would say one of the most important for the series.
Place, which is also under the protection of Mining World Heritage Sites. What’s also worth knowing is that most of the outside mining scenes have been recorded here.
If you are a big fan of Poldark, you surely remember the scene when Demelza is watching Poldark having a swim in this beautiful clear water…
It’s a bay surrounded by dunes, cliffs, and is full of wildlife. Also, this beach is very well known and shall I dare to say one of the most famous in Cornwall. White sand, and blue waters are perfect background for this series!
Charlestown is a small harbour village located like majority of the locations, in Cornwall. It’s actually quite famous shooting place as movies like Alice in Wonderland or Three Musketeers has also been filmed here.
Definition of wild nature beauty that was surely noticed by location managers of Poldark!
St Agnes Head
It’s a stunning place in Cornwall to visit, regardless if you have watched Poldark or not! Just imagine walking down that cliff path and admiring the sea!
Porthcurno beach that you might be able to see at that picture (quite hidden) is a beach where Poldark’s and Demelza walks have been filmed. No wonder! Imagine how wonderful this place must have looked like during sunset or sunrise!
What I presented to you here, today in this list, is just MY Top 10 Poldark’s filming locations in Cornwall, that I would love to see one day maybe during road trip? Saying that, you have to realize that there are many many more locations that crew were filming in, like for example: Gwennap Head, Predannack Wollas, Padstow Area and much more.
Whether you might be reading this post because you are simply curious about this topic, or maybe you are planning your UK road trip alongside those places, it doesn’t matter. In any way, I hope you enjoyed it, and it was somehow helpful if you are planning some future travels!
Until next time!
